Es un trastorno alimentario que consiste en reemplazar las calorías que aporta una comida completa,
por las calorías del alcohol.... En muchos casos dejan de comer, para poder beber la cantidad de alcohol que desean, sin tener que preocuparse tanto por el peso. Es una conjugación de anorexia,
bulimia y alcoholismo.
La alcohorexia es una nueva práctica con gravísimas consecuencias que afecta sobre todo a mujeres en
edad universitaria.
Además, según los estudios, la alcohorexia puede ir acompañada de episodios de bulimia, ya que
quienes la sufren muchas veces se producen el vómito después de haber bebido de más. De esta forma, se "deshacen" de los alimentos ingeridos durante el día y de las calorías acumuladas por el
alcohol.
Las consecuencias de este patrón de conducta más grave son el coma etílico que puede provocar la muerte, la desnutrición de la persona y riesgos sociales, como el de estar más propensa a abusos
sexuales, debido a la falta de conciencia que ocasiona el consumo de alcohol en exceso.
Si sospechas, que tú o alguien cercano, la puede estar padeciendo, échale un vistazo a estas
preguntas:
• ¿Cuando salgo con mis amigos, acostumbro a beber alcohol en grandes cantidades?
• ¿Reduzco mi consumo de calorías durante el día, si sé que en la noche voy a ingerir alcohol?
• ¿Aunque no esté muy bebida, lo primero en lo que pienso es en vomitar para no sentirme tan mal al día siguiente?
• ¿Soy capaz de llevar una dieta estricta, pero cuando se trata de alcohol, no me limito?
• ¿Soy una persona que puede beber mucho sin emborracharse?
Si respondiste sí a más de una pregunta, tal vez estés padeciendo alguna de las etapas de la alcohorexia. No lo pienses más y acude a un especialista que pueda ayudarte.
